Happy Third Birthday Logan!

Today we had Logan's Sports theme Birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. He was VERY excited and LOVED his party and all his presents. Although he didn't want to stop playing games long enough to open gifts!

Pretend Birthday Cupcakes

Logan is VERY excited that his birthday is in 2 days and he has been begging me for his birthday cake all day. (I baked the cakes this morning to decorate tomorrow) So when I saw the idea of play dough valentines cupcakes on www.notimeforflashcards.com I thought logan would like to make pretend birthday cakes. So I gave him some play dough, cupcake papers and candles and let him create. Oh and I know that Logan is turning 3 but I found a number one candle that I had bought for Ethan's Birthday and lost so I thought we could get some use out of it.

Dinosaur Rescue

It is pretty snowy outside today so we decided to stay in and try 2 more games. I adapted ideas from the book I got to suit the boys interests.

Dinosaur Rescue
Disclaimer no plastic dinosaurs were harmed in the making of this game. Although putting them into food storage containers is a little mean. Anyways I put a bunch of the boys Dinosaurs into various containers and told the boys they had to rescue them. They had lots of fun putting them back in the containers too. This worked out well too because they had to match the lid to the container.

Drawing Puzzles

Logan and I drew pictures and I cut them into puzzles. Logan was funny while I was cutting the pictures- He would look away and say- "Mommy -I can't watch!"

Toddler Games

I got a book of toddler games out of the Library- Games to Play with Toddlers by Jackie Silberg so I decided that we would try out 1 a day. Yesterday we tried the newspaper balance beam. I folded newspapers and taped them to the floor. I showed the boys how to walk on it like a balance beam but since it wasn't actually raised they just had lots of fun running back and forth on it. I wound up combining it with a valentines game so they would hop on the hearts and then run back on the newspapers. The boys basically wound up just running around the room to music but they had lots of fun.

Favorite Book

Here is Logan reading his new favorite book- The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. After he had me read it about a dozen times he knows most of the words.
