Messy Day

Today we had a messy project day.

We made egg carton caterpillars:

Corn starch Clay St Patrick's decorations

Corn Starch Clay
Mix 1 cup corn starch, 1 cup baking soda and 1 1/4 cup water in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until dough forms. Make shapes and air dry til hard.

These are our leprechaun hand prints when they dry we are going to paint them green!

Cornstarch and water goo:

Mix equal parts cornstarch and water until a goo forms-
I added a little more cornstarch then water.

Yogurt painting:

Rice bin
Bath finger painting- the recipe I used for this didn't work out so well because it stung Ethan's eyes when he rubbed them. I am going to try a different recipe and post it another day.

Party Paradise Playroom

Today we met Liam, Keira, Megan and Steven at the Party Paradise playroom. The 3 boys had lots of fun playing with all the toys!

C is for cookie

This week we are working on the letter C. Logan I baked some cookies- I was trying to make them shaped like c's until Logan told me that he wanted circle cookies because I said circle started with a C.

More Museum Pictures

Since we have a membership we having been going to our local children's museum quite a bit. Here are some pictures from Saturday when Mike and I took the boys and today when we went with my Mom.

B is for Bear

We have been so busy that we are doing some things for B this week too. Here are the bears we made out of recycled cardboard and coffee ground paint.


We had a teddy bear picnic last week and we made these bear pizzas.

Snow Tubing

Unky Rob, Katie and Grammy went snow tubing with us today at Bonds Lake. We had lots of fun. It was just VERY tiring walking back up the big hill. It was really nice tubing they even played music which Ethan really liked.

Chocolate Valentine's Treats

We are having a Valentine's day play date indoor picnic tomorrow. So today the boys and I were busy making some yummy chocolate treats for our picnic.

Both boys helped make brownies:
(I let them take turns dumping in ingredients and they stirred together just about long enough for me to get this picture- then I took over! As much as I love their help I actually needed these to turn into brownies!)
Then Logan and I made chocolate covered popcorn while Ethan was napping.

Logan's Special Valentine Popcorn

1- Pop a lot of popcorn- watching it pop is FUN!
2- Get Mommy to melt chocolate for you and then when she isn't looking drizzle on chocolate.
3- When mommy takes over the chocolate drizzling- add lots of sprinkles!

4- Let it cool5- EAT!
6- add M&M's, Teddy Grahams, and pretzels!
