Quick Pizza

Logan's Preschool class was learning about triangles today and they made this cute pizza craft. So Logan wanted to make pizza for lunch. Luckily I had mini pitas in the fridge so the boys made cute mini pizzas. Sorry our tables so messy we weren't planning on making pizzas so I had a bunch of craft stuff out.

Pipe cleaners, Straws and Salt Oh My!

Last week I cleaned out the boys massive arts and crafts shelves and unearthed a bunch of pipe cleaners. I put the Pipe cleaners on what I thought was a high open shelf but Logan kept getting into them. Finally I decided if they want to play with pipe cleaners why not. So I filled a basket with pipe cleaners, straws, clothespins and assorted containers and placed it in the living room. They were so excited about it and were making all sorts of things.

Painting eggs

Even though it is freezing here and there's snow on the ground we are thinking spring. We painted some ceramic eggs the other day. The boys had lots of fun and they are very springy!

Maple Weekend

Today the boys and I went with Grammy and Grampy to celebrate NY state maple weekend. First we went to the American Legion for a pancake breakfast were Ethan ate 5 big pancakes more then any of us!
Then we went to a maple farm. We took a very cold tractor ride to see how they collect maple syrup.
Theres tubing running between the trees that collects the sap.


They also had a petting zoo of rescued animals.



They also had lots of cows.

Bird Crafts

Even though it is snowing here today the calendar says its spring and we have been doing a bunch of springy bird themed crafts.

Nesting Balls- We filled mesh produce bags with yarn and fabric scraps for the birds to use in their nests.

Zoo Map

Friday the weather was really nice and springlike so we went to the zoo. I normally don't get a map since we go there a lot but I thought the boys would like one. They loved the map but it got a little annoying because they wanted to find every animal on the map.

Now that the weather has been a little nicer- meaning that I am less afraid of a giant snowstorm hitting and getting stuck in downtown buffalo with two small children- we have started going to the science museum to play again.

Hedgehog sitters

Unky Rob went out of town for the weekend so we have been watching his hedgehog Toots. We were only watching the hedgehog for a little while when Logan decided to rename him Spiky. Since he is pretty spiky the boys put on their mittens so they could pet them but when we told Ethan to put on his mittens he grabbed his hat too. Hedgehogs are nocturnal which is why everyone in pajama pants.
