Helpful Big Brother

Logan is becoming a very helpful big brother. He wanted to push Ethan on the swing. He will also bring us things for Ethan. Now if only we could get Logan to stop hitting Ethan on the head with toys!

Little Gardener

During Ethan's morning nap Logan and I try to get outside and do some gardening. We have lots of weeds to pull and Logan likes to help!

Tasty Tuesday

Today Logan and I baked Guilt free Pina Colada Cupcakes. I used a recipe I got from my new Hungry Girl cookbook. You mix 2 cups yellow cake, 1 1/2 cups crushed pineapple with juice and 1/2 tsp coconut extract. Divide into 12 cupcakes and bake at 350 for 20 min.
Since we didn't use any eggs Logan got to lick the spoon. Yum!

I also made a frosting. I just mixed a cup of cool whip free, 1/2 cup leftover pineapple and tsp vanilla sugar free pudding mix. We all thought they tasted great and pretty guilt free at 115 calories.

Duck Hunt

Last night we took the boys to look for ducks at Island Park. We didn't find too many ducks but the boys still had lots of fun. They loved playing on the playgrounds, big swings, and sandbox.

River Walk

After Mike got home from work yesterday we took the boys for a picnic and a walk by the river. Logan had lots of fun throwing sticks in the water.

Logan spotted this stick coming out of the water and thought it was an Elephant Trunk. He kept pointing and saying "Elephant- Where are you?" Too cute! Oh and he was right it really did look like and Elephant.

Nature Walk

It is about 70 degrees here today so we met our friends Julie and Kate for a nature walk. We went to the Charles Burchfield Nature Preserve. The kids had lots of fun hiking on the trails, picking flowers and playing on the large playground they have there. Kate and Logan were born about a week apart so they have been friends since birth!

I was going to write about how good the boys play together now but Logan keeps hitting Ethan and I keep having to put him in time out so I gotta run!

Happy Earth Day!

Happy belated Earth day! Yesterday to celebrate we played outside and planted seeds. The boys also enjoyed the special dessert we made - funky monkey bars! We also painted a toilet paper tube for a craft but Logan decided to use it as a elephant trunk.

Earth day made me think about the Eco friendly things that we have been trying to do as a family:

• Eating Vegetarian
• Shopping at the farmers market
• Recycling everything possible
• We started a compost bin
• We have almost entirely eliminated using paper towels, paper napkins, Ziploc bags and paper plates
• Keeping the heat low in our house
• Turning off lights etc/ when not in use
• We use Eco friendly Laundry and dish soap
• Reusable bottles and bags
• We consign or donate things when we are done with them
• We buy a lot of kids stuff at garage sales/consignment

Rain boots

Logan cannot resist jumping in puddles and recent rain has turned our backyard into a swamp. So yesterday I got him some cute rain boots. He had tons of fun jumping in the puddles last night.

Rainy day fun!

It's raining today so we are just chilling at home. Logan discovered my drawer of table clothes so we made a fort- which he had to climb on. Logan is in a big climbing phase he climbs on everything including the dining room table which does not thrill us! Ethan is starting to climb too. He was very proud of himself for figuring out how to climb up and sit on our little couch.

Logan also wanted to read books with Rocky. Then we were making little book forts and tunnels for Rocky to crawl in.

Rocky is our new pet guinea pig. Sorry I couldn't get great pictures it is a challenge to try to take pictures and keep both kids from guinea pig squishing.

Boys in Hats!

The weather is gorgeous today so we spent a lot of time in our backyard. I am so happy that Logan will finally wear a hat. He will only wear it if baby E.E. (Logan's nickname for Ethan) is wearing a hat too!
