Fourth of July Flashback!

I probably won't be posting anything for a little while. We are leaving for the Adirondacks on Monday and will be coming home on July 5th. I have tons of packing that I should be doing right now. I thought I would post some pictures from past Independence days. Happy Fourth of July!

Backyard Blooms

My budding photographer Logan helped me pick out some flowers he thought were pretty to take pictures of this morning. I thought I would post them because I just spent the last 10 minutes running around in the beginnings of a thunder storm trying to make sure our stuff won't blow away and it is so dark at 2 in the afternoon that out solar garden lights are on.

Backyard fun!

Part of trying to adjust nap times means I can't put Ethan in the stroller or car before his nap time or he will fall asleep. That means we have been spending a lot of time in the back yard. Luckily we have a nice yard and we have been having lots of fun. Here are some cute shots that I took today.

Operation keep Ethan Awake part 2

Today he was able to stay awake until lunch... just not through lunch. I hope it doesn't look like I am a mean mom for trying to keep him up. Yesterday it worked out that he took a nice long nap and was happy the rest of the day. When he takes an early nap he is a complete crab by 5 pm.

We must have really tired out Ethan...

Operation: Keep Ethan Awake

Now that Ethan is one he has shifted his schedule to only wanting 1 longer morning nap. However, Logan takes 1 long afternoon nap. They have not napped at the same time for over a week making running around and getting stuff done difficult. So today I thought I would try having lunch a little earlier keeping Ethan up until after lunch then putting both boys down at the same time. Ethan almost made it except this is what happened while I was making lunch:

He drank the milk I gave him and feel asleep in the middle of the living room. I was able to more him to his room I am juts hoping he isn't too hungry to take a good nap.

Night at the Zoo

Tonight we went to members only night at our local zoo. We all had a blast. The boys got to have all sorts of fun animal experiences. Petting a snake.

I was checking my email and turned to see my little buddy peeking at me over the couch! Yes Ethan can climb on to and off of the couch now.

Imagination!

Logan has developed a crazy imagination these days. Today he was being super cute with his play dough making hats, fish and snakes. He also loves pretending to fix everything. However sometimes his imagination gets him in trouble I tried putting the boys in a side by side stroller so I could go jogging and Logan decided to pretend that he was a beaver and Ethan was a tree. Logan kept biting Ethan and saying "I beaver -E brother a tree- chomp chomp". So I tried letting Logan walk and he started chewing on actual trees. Terrible twos are so much fun at times.

New Pool!

This weekend we picked up a easy set pool on sale. The boys love the water so we thought that they would have tons of fun with it. However the nights are still cool here so the water hasn't gotten to warm yet so the boys are still unsure of the new pool when they first get in. Logan adjusts to the cold water pretty quick and then he likes playing in the pool. Ethan will stay clung on to me the entire time he is in the pool like a baby Koala. I am sure once it gets warmer I won't be able to keep them out of it.

Fiesta

Today we went to a fiesta for Emma's 7th Birthday. Both boys had fun eating tacos and swimming. Logan had fun hitting the Pinata and going on the water slide. Unfortunately I was too busy to get pictures with the other kids including the Birthday girl (sorry Emma!).

Fun at the Mall

We need to start saving our quarters because Logan is now at the age were we can't go to the mall without taking a few rides. We used to be able to just set him on the ride but now he wants them to go, go, go!
